So, I haven't been writing here for a while. my mom got a new computer. This one. And my cousins from Minnesota were visiting and stuff, so I was busy. And for those of you who know a bit about music--I got a new piece! Praeludium and Allegro by Fritz Kreisler! I really like that piece, especially the "crazy sixths", as we call them, near the end of the Allegro. And the chords at the end. And the Praeludium is reeeally beautiful at the begining.

But, even better. I need to get a new violin, a half size. So, I wasn't having much luck finding a good one. But, my grandmother, Joanne Rile, has a job where she works with musicians to try to find them concerts to play in (she is good friends with the Ahn Trio and I have met them in person many times) and she was talking to a very famous violin prodigy Dylana Jenson and somehow the subject came up that her grandaughter needed a new half size violin, and Jenson said that she happened to have a wonderful violin (we are not sure of the size yet, though it is a half or a three quarter, and we don't know what kind it is i.e., German, Italian, French.) But she said it is the same violin she was playing with orchestras on when she was very young!! And, since it is a 17th century violin and a VERY rare one (only about two of its kind in the world), she kept it and she has been loaning it to kids (for FREE) that need that size violin!! I AM SO EXCITED THAT I MIGHT GET TO PLAY ON IT!!!!!! But the problem is, on August 9th, I'm leaving to go to a music camp called Kinhaven up in Vermont, and I might not be able to take it because she has to ship it all the way out here and I have to try it and stuff before I leave. But I might get it afterwards!!! Oh by the way, go to http://www.flash.net/~park29/jenson.htm for a page with an interview about Jenson's life. (It's a good one.) Anyway, I have to go now. Enjoy the interview!!
